The Amish

After watching the documentary "The Devil's Playground", I would assume you have a great deal of questions on the Amish culture.  Your job is to research and find ONE MYTH and ONE TRUTH about the Amish culture. You may find this information on any reliable website- please site your sources. 

You will post your myth and truth under the comments section of this blog.  If you need help with this look at the second post...Also, this is due on Friday, October 8th at Midnight!

    Truth:Amish parents like any other parents are very concerned about their children’s behavior and do everything they can to help the young make good choices. The youth are not encouraged to sow their wild oats. When a young person decides to be rowdy and engage in deviant behavior they are making a choice of their own.

    Other stories included a journalist dressing up in a brown dress and carrying apple crisp in an effort to cross police lines. Stories of one journalist, dressed in a pink dress, trying to gain access to one of the girls’ funerals. (The Amish laugh at this one because an Amish woman would never wear a pink dress.)
